Restoring Hope: Inside Our Relief Efforts for Displaced Communities in Zamfara

Displacement is one of the most pressing humanitarian challenges in Zamfara. Here’s how we’re stepping in to restore dignity and rebuild lives.

Zamfara State has witnessed a significant number of internally displaced persons (IDPs) due to insecurity and natural disasters. At the Ministry of Humanitarian and Relief Matters, we have prioritized emergency response through the provision of food, shelter, medical aid, and emotional support.
Our recent interventions include setting up temporary shelters in safe zones, distributing food supplies to over 5,000 families, and initiating trauma healing sessions, especially for women and children.
We are also working closely with local communities, NGOs, and international partners to build long-term resilience. By empowering IDPs with vocational training and psychosocial support, we are not just addressing today’s crisis—we are investing in a more stable tomorrow.
