Feeding the Future: Combating Hunger and Malnutrition in Zamfara

Food insecurity remains a major concern in Zamfara. Discover our ongoing efforts to nourish lives and promote sustainable food systems.

With ongoing conflicts and poor harvests, many families in Zamfara face food shortages daily. Our Ministry has rolled out multiple phases of food relief distribution, especially targeting children, nursing mothers, and the elderly.
In collaboration with health agencies, we’ve introduced community nutrition programs that provide fortified foods and nutritional education in affected areas.
Additionally, we are investing in long-term agricultural solutions by supporting small-scale farmers with tools, seedlings, and training in climate-resilient practices.
Our goal is not only to meet today’s food needs but to help communities become self-sustaining, ensuring that no child in Zamfara goes to bed hungry again.
